Moving On Up

Brylie's first year of preschool has come to an end and to recognize it her teacher held a little graduation. The kids put on a little program singing songs, going through the letter sounds, and counting in Spanish. Ms. Linda then gave each child a portfolio of the work they had done through the year.

Brylie has loved going to preschool this year and has learned so much. She can't wait for "4 year old" preschool next year and all the new things she'll learn. Now I just have to keep her busy for the summer.

Memorial Day Weekend

This year for Memorial Day we took a kind of spur of the moment trip to Las Vegas. Each of us had our own requirements for the trip, Brandon wanted a trip to Fry's, I wanted some time to just relax, Beckam wanted to play, and Brylie wanted to play in water. All I can say is the trip delivered. We had such a fun time and both kids got plenty of play and water!
We love going to Las Vegas! Brylie is already making plans for our next trip.

In For It

A few days ago I went to check on Beckam to make sure he was taking a nap and I was greeted by this.
Beckam has never shown an interest in his diaper before, but for some reason he chose that day to undo it. Maybe he felt he needed some extra room to breathe. Lucky for me he decided to leave his pants on. So after a quick diaper change and putting him back in bed I thought I was good to go. Not so! He did the same thing again five minutes later. Oh I'm so in for it with this boy.

New Member of the Family

We have a new addition to our family. It's only been around for a short while, but I don't know what we did without it. I know it's just some metal, rubber, and fabric but my kids love it to death.
I was worried how the kids would handle riding behind a bike in a bike trailer, but from the first time we put them in it, they haven't wanted to get out. Beckam had a come apart one Sunday morning because he couldn't have a bike ride. Every night when Brandon gets home the kids ask for a ride. And when we put the trailer away we have to be sure to pull the netting down or the kids would be playing in it any chance they get. We already have family rides to the corner snow cone stand planned. Now I just have to get my bike. It's going to be a fun summer!!

Are They Related?

While we were at Brandon's parents house one Sunday his mom pulled out old pictures of each of the kids. Do you see any resemblance between Brandon (around 18 months old) and a child of ours? (Hint---It's really obvious when Beckam's hair has curls.)
There's no denying that Beckam is definitely his father's son (in more ways then one).

Brylie is 4!!!

I can't believe it, but Brylie is now four! She started her birthday out with opening presents (pretty much all My Littlest Petshop stuff) and then we got ready for her Princess Bowling party.
Beckam wasn't too thrilled with it not being his birthday!
This year instead of doing a big party we invited a few of her friends to come bowling and go to Chuck-E-Cheese. Of course it was all about princesses so the girls dressed up and decorated tiaras and purses.
Bowling went really well and was pretty laid back. Chuck-E-Cheese was crazy and I question my sanity for wanting to take kids there on a Saturday. I don't think Brylie missed having a big party one bit. (Every time we drive by either place she still talks about going there.) Brylie has grown up so much and she is the first to tell you she is a kid or a big girl. Don't even think of calling her little. She is so independent and surprises me everyday with what she can do and the things she says. She is a big helper an loves to run errands with me. Her smile and laugh constantly brighten my day and sometimes I'll deliberately tickle her just to hear her laugh. She has such a kind, tender heart and wants to be friends with everyone. We are so blessed to have her in our family! Happy Birthday big girl. Hope this year is as great as the last.

A WICKED Time

Many months ago Brandon got tickets for us to go to the play Wicked when it came to Salt Lake City. After a long wait (our tickets were close to the end of the run) we finally got to go. And thanks to Brandon's parents watching the kids overnight, we were able to make a big night of it. We started our night out by eating at The Roof. The views were amazing and the food wasn't bad either. It was nice to be at such a nice place with Brandon, without kids, and be able to talk and reconnect. We then headed over to the play. (I wanted to get a picture with the Wicked poster, but wouldn't you know my battery died after having a picture taken in the theater.)
The play was so great and I worth the wait. After the play we spent the night at the Anniversary Inn. Sleeping in was heavenly!!! Now I just need to find another play I want to see so we can do this all over again.

Fun With Daddy

Due to the crazy week and weekend Brandon had last week and the generosity of his work, Brandon has been able to spend a couple of days this week with us as home. Today we took a trip to the aquarium. Since our first trip, Brylie has really wanted to come back with her Daddy. She's only brought it up a thousand times and asked him when he was going a million.
We had a great time and the kids loved spending the extra time with Brandon. Now if we could just figure out a way to get the extra time with out the extra time at work for Brandon.

Busy But Worth It - Saturday

Saturday was the last day my family was in town. We got together for lunch and then, after a quick shopping trip, headed back to our place for a quick birthday celebration for Brylie. It wasn't officially Brylie's birthday but it definitely got Brylie in the spirit to celebrate her birthday and gave my family a chance to see her face when she opened their presents. Due to the request from Beckam to have cake, we started things off with Brylie blowing out her candles and eating some cake.
After that we quickly went to what Brylie wanted to get to, opening presents.
Thanks so much for your gifts guys. She has wanted to take her camera everywhere and took it to show and tell at preschool. (I finally "hid" it to give it a rest). The dinging from the microwave is constant and Brylie has started taking orders for food to cook. And the tea set is never in it's container. It was a great three days!!
