Next Year

So we're a little sad in our house since the big game last night. BYU lost to Utah in a less then stellar game on BYU's part. We went to Brandon's parents house to watch the game and lets just say no one wanted to watch after the third quarter. We did have fun getting together though. We had our traditional Winger's wing and potato skins and Jill threw in pizza and bread sticks. Our kids, namely Brylie, just wanted to eat the celery and carrots.
I was glad Parks was there so he could help entertain Brylie so we only really had to worry about Beckam (he was in a mood).
The company was great, the game not so much, but at least we have next year!!

He Can Fly!

Saturday Brandon was finally able to go and "fly" at Ifly in Odgen. He got a gift certificate almost a year ago to go there and after some "reminding and pushing" from me he scheduled it and we all spent the afternoon making the excursion. After going through a training class Brandon got to take two turns in the air tunnel and Brylie got a kick out of watching him. I guess they let kids as young as three go in, but Brylie was pretty adamant she did not want to try it.
Brandon really enjoyed it and now is even toying with the idea of going real skydiving. He asked me if I wanted to try Ifly and I said I'd rather go skydiving again. I just don't see how an air tunnel can compete with the real thing.

Shut In Again

So the kids and I have once again resumed our shut-in status. Beckam is sick so by default Brylie and I get to stay inside and away from others with him. He's on his second ear infection and cold/bad cough since the beginning of October. It looks like we're in for another long winter!! I just wanted to let everyone know we aren't avoiding you, just want to spare you from our pain and boredom. See you when he's better!

Will We See You There?

So this weekend Alta is having a coat drive where for every coat (limit 2 per person) you donate you get a free day pass to Alta. I'm thinking of recruiting some of my non-skiing neighbors or sisters to go up with us so we can stock up on the passes and get rid of some coats that have just been sitting around for forever. It's a good cause and a great reward. And if you are a skier and like Alta, just think of the money you'll be saving this season as well. (And if it's free maybe I'll even give skiing another shot.) Let me know if you're thinking of going and maybe we can make a fun afternoon of it.

Hockey Family Outing

When a free offer shows itself we tend to jump on it, so when we were offered tickets to a hockey game we decided it was a good chance for a family outing. Brylie and Brandon went to a Jazz game a few weeks back and she loved it so I was pretty sure Brylie would enjoy going to the Hockey game. I thought with all the lights, noise, and action Beckam would enjoy it as well. As we were driving up Brylie kept asking, "Is this the hockey game? I've never been here."
Well with Brylie I was right, with Beckam I couldn't have been more wrong. He didn't want to sit in the seats or be held so Brandon spent the first period walking with Beckam where ever he wanted to go. We tried bribing him with treats and toys but after a little bit of a banana Beckam wasn't having anymore of it so we left. I honestly love having the opportunity for my kids to experience new things and Brylie talks about them for forever. We'll give hockey another try when Beckam is a little older.

Where Did Fall Go

This morning we woke up to inches of snow covering everything! Snow has still been falling, so I've had to clean off my car a couple of times with having to get Brylie to and from preschool. Last year I would just stay inside if I didn't like the weather, now we have stuff we have to do and I'm not thrilled about having to go out in the weather and deal with it. Brylie on the other hand inherited Brandon's love of the snow and cold. All she wanted to do while I was trying to hurry her to the car or house (ie. warmth) was stop and catch a snowflake, or grab a handful of snow, or walk in the snow. Oh this is going to be a fun winter!! Mom get ready, I'm sure the kids and I will be making more trips then normal to come visit.

Happy Halloween

This was the first Halloween we didn't have somewhere to go during the day and let's just say I felt it. For some reason I just couldn't get going so we lazed around all day. I'm not one to really get into "holiday" food but for some reason I felt like it on Halloween. For lunch we had ghost sandwiches and monster blood soup to dip them in. And after one little goblin went down for a nap Brylie and I made Halloween cookies.
For dinner we were going to have Monster Macaroni and Cheese but after Brandon got home we opted for a quick pizza and getting costumes on to get out Trick or Treating. The weather was perfect for being out and the kids made a killing on the candy. We left a bowl of candy on our porch so both Brandon and I could go with out with the kids which turned out to be perfect with Beckam. I wouldn't have wanted to take both of them by myself and there is no way we could have gone with a group with Beckam possibly being sick.
Now if we could just convince Brylie that the candy is for eating/slowly getting rid of and not to be permanently kept in her ghost bag.
