After the Rain

What do you do after it rains and it's not completely freezing outside? You put on your new boots and go jump in the puddles!!!

What do you do if an over active jumping brother gets your pants wet....

And your mean mom refuses to let you change them and come back out and jump some more? You have a little bit of a cry.

What do you do when you see all the fun your brother is having while your sitting throwing your fit?

You roll up your pants to keep them from getting wet again and join back in the jumping fun.

And when it's all over you pray for rain the next day so you can jump in the puddles again.

Spooky Houses

What's Halloween without at least one Halloween craft? The kids really enjoyed "putting" these Spooky Halloween Houses together and decorating them.

And it didn't hurt that the houses helped with my decorating for the holiday.

First Photography Session

I've been dabbling in photography for a little while now. I mostly have stuck to taking pictures of my kids or helping my friend out on some of her shoots. Well when this little guy was born I decided to attempt my first solo shoot. It was tons of fun and went so much better then I expected especially with it being my first real photography session. Now if I could get Beckam to behave as well as this cutie did in front of a camera.

Month in Review

Upfront warning...This could be a long one. (I'm hoping to stay more on top of blogging. But with just trying to keep my head above water right now, blogging tends to fall way low on the priority list.) We've made it one month with being a single parent (me)and being a parent working out of state (Brandon). All I can say is thank goodness Las Vegas is relatively close (makes for easy driving or flying trips) and for technology (cell phones and web cams).

September 8th was a big day for our family, Brandon started his new job in Las Vegas and Brylie started Preschool. Brylie had been wanting to get back to school since half way through the summer. She is having a blast in school and making new friends like crazy. Of course it doesn't hurt that she gets to draw and write letters, two of her favorite things to do.

Brandon was able to make a "surprise" trip home a couple of weeks later. (We weren't planning on him coming home until the next weekend.) We sure made the most of his trip. Friday night we were able to go to dinner with some friends. I didn't take any pictures, but it was a blast and some much needed adult only time for me. Saturday after Brylie's soccer game we headed to the zoo. Brylie had been wanting to see the baby animals and with daddy being home it seemed like the perfect time. Beckam just wanted to get out of the house and do anything with Brandon.

The next week the circus came to town. The day of the first performance there is an Elephant Parade at the Gateway and we couldn't miss that. It was a great way to get the kids excited to see the Circus.

The kids also "camped" out in the living room. I couldn't resist when Brylie asked to sleep in the living room. We pulled out their sleeping bags and turned on a movie and I went upstairs --No Adults allowed at this kid event.

To end the week, Brandon came back to town to go to the circus with us. We went early to see the animals close up and everything else they had going on before the show started.

Once the lights went down and the show started my lap became a perching spot for Beckam to see the show better. The kids loved the circus and Brylie has been especially attached to the tiger she got there.

The next week the kids and I got to spend an afternoon at Bouncin Off the Walls (thanks event due to UEA) with our good friends Viv, Britton, and Ashton. The kids loved it and I joined in a couple of times. I'm marking Wednesdays on my calendar for their open bounce.

The rest of the month is pretty much a blur. I know there have been a couple of sicknesses, a offer on the house that didn't work out, and everything else that comes with trying to sell a house mixed in there somewhere. We haven't sold our house yet and there have been more downs then ups with Brandon's new job so we're still not sure where we're going to end up long term. Right now we're just hanging on for the ride and really hoping it comes to a safe end soon while trying to have some fun and keep my sanity in tact.

Las Vegas or Bust!

So this post is way overdue, and a lot of you already know, but our little family is moving to LAS VEGAS. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it which isn't too good since our first big change comes Monday. We aren't quite sure when our whole family will be permanently living there, but the house is on the market and we're praying we sell it really soon. In the mean time I'm preparing myself for only 2 seasons (good-bye fall leaves), no snow in the winter (Brandon will be visiting Utah to ski when he can), and hot, hot summers (I'll be visiting Utah with the kids to escape the heat). Wish us luck!
