Fun in California

I have been trying to figure out how to make a Disneyland trip happen for awhile and thanks to a graduation trip from and with Brandon's very generous parents, Disneyland became a reality. After a night stop in Las Vegas, we finally made it to the Disney Parks. For our first day we decided to go to California. Brylie was just so happy to finally be at Disneyland that she just wanted to get going and didn't care where we started. (We had heard for the whole drive, "I still want to go to Disneyland. Are we at Disneyland yet?") They had started to decorate for Halloween so we got to enjoy that as well.

(I just liked the sign. Maybe I'll give this award out some day.)
Our first stop was a Playhouse Disney show. Brylie watches Disney every morning while I'm trying to wake up so we couldn't miss it. Her face was priceless during the show (well for most of the trip actually) and she even sang along to some of the songs.

We also hit Monster's Inc., Bugs Life, King Triton's carousel, and a Toy Story ride. I'm sure there were more, but if I was on it then no pictures were taken. (And the pictures act as my memory.) Brandon and I did go on Tower of Terror, or something like that, and I really liked it. Brandon sat next to a lady that really made things fun by yelling out fun little phrases and grabbing really hard on to the arm rest.

The next day we spend the whole day at Disneyland. I have fond memories of going to Disneyland when I was a kid and couldn't wait for Brylie and Beckam to experience it. Both kids enjoyed it in their own way. Beckam enjoyed the space to walk around and just chilled during the rides. And a couple of cat naps helped him survive the day. Brylie couldn't get enough of anything. She talked through each ride and wanted to go on everything again. It was so great!!!
We did take a little break in the afternoon for both kids to regroup. I'm so glad we stayed within a couple blocks of Disneyland so we could go back to the hotel when needed without any trouble. We ended the night by watching the fireworks and both kids crashed before we even got to the Disneyland exit gates.
The next day we went to the beach. Getting to the beach was the only other thing I wanted to do with the kids while we were in California. I grew up going to the beach every summer and really wanted Brylie to see the ocean. She loved the water, taunting the waves to come get her, and then running out of the water when they complied. Beckam wasn't too sure about the water and after a couple of run ins had had enough of it.
Once we convinced Brylie to come out of the water, ie. her lips were getting a little too purple, Brandon started digging a hole in the sand and the kids were thrilled with that. Beckam had found his second home and was so content to just hang out in the hole and voiced his objection to anyone coming close. And when Brandon took him out of the hole so he could make it bigger, Beckam showed his discontent by pushing sand back in the hole. (Well he probably didn't realize what he was doing, but it sure was funny.)
After a little while Brylie decided that she wanted to bury her legs and daddy helped her with it.
We then grabbed some lunch on the pier and headed back to the hotel to clean up and head back to Disneyland. We were trying to get as many rides done as possible, so my camera didn't come out, but fun was had and the kids especially liked the Dumbo ride. We headed home the next day and since then I have repeatedly heard that Brylie wants to go back to Disneyland and the beach to look for sea shells and play in the ocean. I would say the trip was a success.

New Looks

Today was a big day for Beckam. He got his first haircut. After some tears, cuddling with his blanket, and playing in his airplane chair, he ended up quite the happy boy with a not so baby look. His baby curls are gone and hopefully his hair won't be quite as unruly after a bath. He's becoming quite the little man.
And since we were already there I decided to have Brylie's hair trimmed and some bangs cut.
She knew the drill so she quickly chose the pink car to sit in and requested a pink balloon when she was done. She didn't want to smile for the camera, but her haircut turned out really cute. New looks are the best.
